Watch: New Abarth 124 GT4 tests at Monza

We all know the Abarth 124 spider is a retro little Italian roadster based on the MX-5. Despite having great handling qualities (thanks to it’s Japanese cousin), the Abarth 124 isn’t particularly quick as 0-60mph is dealt with in 6.8secs and the top speed is 143mph. Nonetheless, the Abarth 124 looks like it has undergone an extensive training schedule to get it ready for the GT4 European Series.

This supposed GT4 racer certainly looks the real deal with canards, vented wings, side-exit exhausts, a giant rear diffuser and wing. In this video it looks like all that aero is working hard to keep the extra horsepower in check. It is unknown what kind of power the Abarth 124 GT4 has been given, roughly 400bhp from an Alfa Romeo 4C-derived engine is most likely though.
